Mission: To provide input and assistance regarding youth activities and programming during these Beckley Renaissance’s events:
June/July - Car Shows
August – Appalachian Festival
September – Kids Classic Festival
October – Chili Night
Plus other special events (optional)

Requirements:
- Members must be between the ages of 14 & 21 by June 1st of this year.
- Members will need to:
 - Attend at least 2 meetings
 - Attend and help during at least 3 of the events (min. 3 hours each)

The Youth Council will consist of 10 – 16 members:
4 – 6 Appointed members: Teen & Miss Festival Queens (crowned during pageant)
6 – 10 Other members will be selected from Raleigh County applications. Completed applications must be post-marked by May 15th.

Youth Council Benefits:
- Members serve a one year term
- Member will receive a Youth Council or festival shirt
- Members will develop and implement a youth project / goal
- Members will have the opportunity to meet with committees and learn about planning and promoting special events
- Activities may include event set-up, promotion, admissions, sales, event ambassadors, &/or assist with games, parades, & judging contests
- The Youth Council provides a great opportunity to accomplish community service hours & learn leadership skills.
