The members of Beckley's Common Council are elected from the City's five wards. Citizen's also elect two Councilmen-at-Large, who represent citizens from all wards. The current council members are:

   • Ward I  - A. K. Minter

   • Ward II - Ann Worley

   • Ward III - Frank Williams

   • Ward IV - Mike Atterson

   • Ward V  - Lee Leftwich

   • At-Large - Rob Rappold

   • At-Large - Cedric Robertson
