July 30 - Kids Classic Miss, Teen & Mrs. Pageant at Tamarack - Info: 304-252-4769

Aug. 14 - Kids Classic Children's Royalty Pageant at Youth Museum - call 304-252-4769 to register.

Sept. 3 - Autumn Fest at Lake Stephens includes various children's activities, booths, entertainment, basketball & skatepark activities, car show & more; 11 am - 5 pm

Sept. 4 - Sunday @ Two at Tamarack - Mick Souter

Sept 5 - McManus Trail event - meet on the trail lot on 3rd Ave, 11 am, Hunt for heroes / one-mile walk

Sept 5 - GFWC Woman's Club of Beckley - Ice Cream Social at the clubhouse at 202 Park Ave, Noon - 2:00; children's activities, Joey & George's grill concessions, Bottle cap recycling conservation garden

Sept 6 - 10 - One free game of bowling and shoe rental for a child accompanied by an adult at Leisure Lanes on Johnstown Road

Sept 7 - Basketball shooting contest & fitness activities at the YMCA on Main Street

Sept 9 - Baby Fair at Friday in the Park, 11 am - 1 pm, Word Park on Neville Street, Pretty Baby Contest, baby crawl contest

Sept 9 - Activities at the Youth Museum & Mine, 6 pm; WVPBS characters Cat in the Hat and Curious George; Funnybones Clown Show at museum's amphitheatre (304-252-3730)
Karaoke at the mine; mine tours
7:30 & 8 pm - planetarium show at Youth Museum; Exhibit - The World of Jan Brett; Inside museum activities & mine tours $5
